Before I created My Own Collection, I was a tree planter who traveled the world seasonally. It was a pretty good life. Planting trees supported my passion for travel and I was fairly content. Eventually I decided that I wanted to share my love of the goods I found from around the world with a wider audience; so I took all my travel experience and started sourcing jewelry, clothing, and even gemstones directly from India. By becoming my own importer, I could build a unique collection of goods at the best price, allowing me to share those great deals directly with my customers.

I started selling my wares at music festivals across northern BC and it became very clear that there are lots of people that want original designs, but have nowhere to shop except big box stores. People in these small communities were excited to see something new in the way of fashion and accessories. My customers have always been people with tastes that go beyond the mainstream. As someone who lives in a small town, I understood the frustration of wanting to wear and buy quality goods from a local business but struggled to find items that reflected my non-traditional style. I wanted to create a unique collection of imported fashion, jewelry, home decor, and accessories for the people who want interesting, unique quality goods at a fair price. After many summers traveling from festival to festival in my 1973 Ford Econoline van, I made the decision to open a permanent storefront. So now you can find us on Reid Street downtown in Quesnel, BC all the time.

I am also a jewelry artist specializing in sterling silver gemstone designs. I carry in store a huge selection of my own work and can do custom orders with 2 weeks notice. We offer in store watch battery replacements, some jewelry repairs.

The store started out as clothing, accessories and home decor but has now grown into a massive collection of items including an assortment of tumbled, raw, and specimen crystals. In wanting to share my love of jewelry making I’ve created a full blown jewelry making wonderland at the back of the store. I carry all kinds of wire, and jewelry making tools and I’ve been teaching wire working classes for many years now to help you learn new jewelry making skills.
